Flume’s Academic Studio educates and empowers humans to know what it means to be human, to flourish their lives, work, and family; and to foster the good, true, and beautiful in their culture.

From colleges to Google to AI to social media, our world is brimming with information. Facts, figures, opinions, details… But intelligence and wisdom is not merely a matter of memorizing or accessing information. If it were, we would be no different than AI ourselves—merely conveyors of information. But humans are exceedingly more. We are rational, emotive, and relational. We are not wired to merely say what is true, but rather to grasp its essence and meaning, and to understand it and its relation to all others matters of the human experience—in respect to ourselves, others, and the highest good. Moreover, our generational stories are not static or detached, but they organically extend deep into history where our very existence serves as signs of resilience and redemption. Even our achievements are not aimlessly subjective, but rather aim toward an exceedingly forward-looking and accumulative telos.

That is why Flume’s courses do not exist to merely offer more information, help you check some boxes, or earning more certificate. Rather, our courses exist to foster paradigm shifts in the minds of learners, to live the examined life and capture meaning, to find purpose and clarity about the human experience and the nature of our modern moment. Mixing philosophy and the humanities with social work and mental health expertise, courses offered through Flume’s Academic Studio will offer intellectual depth and personal application, clarity and calls to cultural renewal, redemptive learning and meaningful modes of being.

Each course aims to be deeply meaningful, genuinely useful, insightful, intuitive, and beautiful. Each will include multiple modules that include unique video lectures, meaningful questions, community discussions, handouts to download, and more.
